Port Moody Public Library has now ten e-readers that patrons can borrow for three weeks at a time like a book. If they're all out, you can put one on hold.

The Kobo Touch readers come with all the cables and instructions you need to start enjoying them. All have 85 titles loaded, which are mostly classics, and patrons can download many other e-books from Library to Go using their home computers attached to the Kobo. PoMo Library staff will be happy to help you get started.

Demand is likely to be high, if the experience of other libraries holds true for Port Moody. The e-books themselves are also popular and wait lists are common. But the situation can only improve as libraries are embracing the technology and meeting the rising demand with more e-readers and more copies of e-books.
